Schedule- What to read, watch, and do for each class
This is the schedule of topics, required readings, and assignments due dates for this semester. Check the Class Calendar to see what topic we’re covering on which date, then open that topic’s drawer to see what you need to read, watch, and do for that topic.
- Actively participate in our Tuesday class
- Read the entire syllabus on this page (or on the google doc linked on that page). Use the google docs comments function on the syllabus on anything that is unclear or you want to discuss further.
- Read The Constitution, Chapter 2
- Watch Crash Course Videos 2-5
- Send your introductory message to the class WhatsApp group.
- Read Before our class: Chapter 5, Chapter 11, Chapters 20-24

- Actively participate in our class
- The Midterm exam will be online, multiple choice, untimed, and you may take it as many times as you like. The exam will only be open Thursday to Saturday, so make sure you take it during that time, as it will not be reopened.
- Read Chapter 12
- Watch Crash Course Videos 11-16
- Complete and print Congressional Simulation Assignment before class
- Bring your Congressional Simulation Assignment to class
- Actively participate in the simulation
- Submit the Meme in class or by Sunday to our dropbox.
- Read Before our class: Budgeting and Tax Policy, Chapter 40: American Budget Priorities, Chapter 45 and 46, Congressional Campaign Financing, Chapter 54: Campaign Finance & Chapter 7

- Actively participate in our class session
- Post your Final Slide and present it in our final class
- Complete and present the Protest Poster Assignment in class if you are doing it.
- 10 Minute Class due by end of the week
- Political Participation & Civic Engagement due by the end of the week (if you haven’t arleady completed them)
- No Class at KCC on Tuesday, so use the time to watch a documentary for the film review, visit a museum or some national parks for those assignments, complete any other assignments you need to, or prepare for the final exam.
- Submit any outstanding work through dropbox by February 21.
- Take the Final Exam online between February 21-23.
